If you take a moment, close your eyes and say the word Love. What is the first thing that comes about? A word, a feeling, maybe a single memory. Now hold that thing, keep your eyes closed and stay with it for one hour. Even if you do this for five minutes, how valuable was for you to spend this focused time with this feeling?

Now, try the opposite. Experience the word hate or anger or fear. How valuable does your time feel, sitting with these feelings?

When you compare the two, which one would you rather hold on to in order to say that you have accomplished a valuable day’s work?
For me, Love wins all the time. And that is why when fear or anger arise, I only need time to let them dissipate. Because, I don’t want to act through an emotion that is not valuable to me. And this is why finding what I love doing the most connects with how I choose my profession, my friends and my activities.
